The Crisis Services Unit in the Emergency Room provides its patients with the highest level of care for all ages as they face acute exacerbation of mental health symptoms.
Our multi-disciplinary team is comprised of Psychiatrists, Registered Nurses, Nurse Technicians, and Social Workers.
This locked subset of the main Emergency Room is equipped with features to provide optimal safety for our patients and staff.
Our staff works in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams in a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space.
Job Summary A Patient Care Tech (PCA, CNA) Provides safe and appropriate basic patient care, as delegated by a Registered Nurse, in order to assist patients in achieving established outcomes by:
performing comfort measures; assisting patients with activities of daily living (e.
g.
basic hygiene, toileting, nutrition, etc.
); collecting data points (e.
g.
vital signs, EKG's, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, etc.
) entering all lab request information into the database system; providing RN with information utilized in assessment; performing direct patient observation; reporting changes in patient condition to RN; reinforcing patient education; and performing wound dressings as needed.
Qualifications Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent.
CNA Certified within 6 months or a nursing student with one year of clinical experience.
Previous Emergency Medicine experience preferred.
Previous EKG and Phlebotomy experience required.
CPR validation within three months of hire.
Candidate must possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Emergency medicine or behavioral health experience highly preferred We take great care of careers.
