This is a supervisory position responsible for the operational and personnel activities of an assigned area of the warehouse. Supervises a group of hourly warehouse associates, providing leadership and direction in order to achieve safety goals, reduced expenses and increased productivity in line with Sysco's vision and values.
Extended hours, and working weekends and holidays are required in order to successfully supervise associates on early morning or late night shifts. Requires working in areas with temperature and humidity variations based on local weather conditions, and on selecting environment (Dry, Cooler, Freezer). Normal business hours supporting this position are 7pm to 4am Sunday through Thursday.

Essential Skills and Knowledge
Possesses strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge and understanding of warehouse operations.
Working knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures, including forms associate with inventory control, product lines and their dimensions.
Knowledge of products sold by Sysco.
Intermediate computer skills, including functional knowledge of word processing and spread sheets; e-mail; internet navigation. Ability to acquire functional knowledge of a variety of desktop/pc programs.
Effectively coaches, counsels, and directs employees.
Essential Duties :
Direct supervision of order selectors, loaders, forklifts, and/or other warehouse associates.
Perform functional supervision including scheduling and making recommendations regarding hiring and performance management.
Monitor and control production, overtime, absences, tardiness, truck shorts, etc. within established limits.
Counsel, advise, and instruct warehouse associates in related policies, procedures, safety training and productivity.
Conduct regular coaching and counseling with warehouse associates towards the overall objective of meeting or exceeding jointly established performance goals and related activities.
Night : Supervise correct selecting of product, loading of trailers and proper handling of outgoing product for on-time departure of trucks.
Train employees and demonstrate associate duties, which requires lifting and /or moving up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Must be able to continuously stand for 8-10 hours or more per shift in order to oversee associate work and operational transactions
Conduct staff meetings and training sessions for employees.
Responsible for keeping the warehouse clean and orderly in compliance with BRC, HACCP, USDA, FDA, Health Department, and Sysco standards.
Provide appropriate training, retraining and corrective action to prevent injuries and accidents.
Perform administrative duties, such as completing reports, maintaining warehouse operations records, and filing reports.
Collaborate with other departments, vendors, contractors, and customers.

Identify and remove operational barriers and seek feedback from employees (slotting issues, equipment, clerical, etc.).
Other duties may be assigned.
Basic Requirement:
3 years' experience in warehousing.
2 years' experience in a supervisory position, or 2 years Sysco Operations experience.
Able to work in all areas of the warehouse.
Ability to read, write, and speak English with excellent communication skills.
HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Requirements:
Associates Degree
Knowledge of Sysco safety and security policies.
Experience using MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
