Payroll Specialist/Customer Service

Great opportunity for an individual with exceptional customer service skills to join New England's fastest growing payroll company in our soon to be opened Rocky Hill location.

Duties:
Accountable and responsible for all aspects of quality service for client base. Contacts and assists clients in process of obtaining information for payroll production and tax related issues; verifies totals, responds to/resolves client questions and problems and delivers quality customer service.
o Maintains a base of payroll clients relevant to size and complexity on all products.
o Maintains a high rate of client retention through quality service, responding timely to client questions and requests.
o Maintains and updates payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data including tax exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
o Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
o Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
o Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
o Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
o Contacts clients regularly daily to obtain payroll data including salary adjustments, special payments, tax allocations and employee deductions and to set schedules.
o Accurately keys all payroll related data necessary to process and meet payroll deadlines.
o Keeps current with payroll processing systems and changes in wage and tax laws.
o Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with clients, agencies and coworkers to promote a quality service image and contributing to a team environment.
Skills/
Qualifications:
o Must have demonstrated experience working with clients and customers in developing working relationships and rapport.
o Excellent oral and written communications skills
o Ability to solve practical problems and deal with complex situations.
o Ability to perform general mathematical and financial computations.
o High level of organization and attention to detail a must.
o Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Requirements:
High School Diploma (Associates preferred) and 3 years office experience with a proven facility in data entry, customer service, and problem resolution. The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
